Wilks Hearing Center Policies
Our office is open daily, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
Appointments times are precise and you can anticipate being seen promptly upon your arrival. New patients require a brief intake process.
Specific time slots are devoted to each procedure and we appreciate at least 24 hours cancellation notice.
Payment is expected at the time of service with cash, check, American Express, Visa or MasterCard.
The office is handicap accessible and we maintain our own wheelchair, if you require. Please let the appointment secretary know that you will need assistance upon your arrival.
Parking is available either in our lot, or if it's full, at 135 Rockaway Turnpike, which is next door. Enter the building through the entrance, which is on Central Avenue.
Our office conforms to OSHA infection control standards.
Most audiology services are covered by your health insurance and we accept most insurance plans. Insurance Co-Pays are generally paid at the time of service.
Early intervention programs or your local school district may cover educational testing. If they provide approval for us, we gladly bill them directly.
Hearing evaluations are conducted on a daily basis, by appointment.
Hearing aid services are paid by some health insurers and we accept most insurance plans that have a hearing aid benefit.
When a hearing aid is recommended, we explain your amplification options and can begin the fitting process at the time of your hearing evaluation. Generally, you can expect to go home with your hearing aid(s) about 2 weeks after your initial evaluation. Special rush service is available, if necessary.
All hearing aids are fit on a 45-day trial basis, with most of the cost refundable should you desire. Details of this consumer protection feature are clearly delineated, in writing, and backed by our 50+ year history of responsible care.
Each instrument we fit is a nationally or internationally recognized manufacturer, with service available in most areas. All instruments have at least a one-year warranty and most include our "Wilks Gold Value Protection Plan."
Hearing aid fees are competitive, with service and support being our highest priority.
Service and support is available throughout the day, with one audiologist usually available for emergencies.
