Wilks Hearing Center provides audiological evaluations employing the latest, state-of-the- art computerized equipment. At our center, in Lawrence, we offer complete audiological services for the entire family in two sound- proof rooms.

Adults -

Complete audiological evaluations determine the extent and type of loss and the ability to discriminate speech.

Children -

Complete audiological evaluations include play and team observational methods to obtain maximum information. Children usually find these procedures fun. We provide comprehensive testing of newborns, infants and school age children.

Acoustic Impedance Testing -

A part of each adult and pediatric test battery to measure middle ear function.

SPECIAL AUDIOLOGICAL SERVICES

Tinnitus -

Testing and management of patients who report "head-noises" or "ringing-in-the-ears."

Central Auditory Processing -

Evaluation of receptive language skills, auditory attention and understanding speech in noise, which can lead to poor school performance (Read More About Auditory Problems)

Brainstem Evoked Response -

A diagnostic test of the neurological integrity of the hearing system. We require physician recommendation for this procedure.

Otoacoustic emissions -

A computerized test of hearing for newborns, infants and young children. Also used to determine function of the inner ear.

Special Populations -

Our compassionate care and broad hospital experience enable us to serve the very elderly or multiply-handicapped individual.

Affillated Services -

Our diagnostic services are also located in varied medical settings.
