What to Expect
We recommend bringing a family member with you to your first appointment. Hearing loss is a family issue, and it helps to have support from a loved one to help you understand information. Before your appointment, we will have you complete a medical history form providing us with some basic information.
1. To begin, we’ll discuss what brought you in, where you are having trouble hearing, and what your goals are.
2. We’ll then perform an ear exam by looking inside your ears for any signs of ear infection or built-up wax.
3. Then we’ll move on to the hearing test. This will take about 20-30 minutes.
4. We’ll go over the results of your audiogram and answer any questions you may have.
5. If you are a good candidate for hearing aids, we’ll go over your options. We carry demo devices in office that you can try on.
